Finished compost is given back to our customers each Spring for free or they can opt to donate it to our non-profit partner, the Urban Agricultural Cooperative. UAC works with a network of local growers in the Greater Newark area who are helping to provide access to fresh, locally grown produce to the community. Designated as a food desert by the USDA, these urban farmers play a vital role in creating a more equitable and just food system.
By composting, you are not only keeping food out of landfills and incinerators, you are helping your neighbors to grow and enjoy nutritious, locally grown food. Environment + social benefits? It's a win-win.
